Disaster Giving Program
Adopt A Fire When disaster strikes, lives are at stake and time is of the essence. Red Cross disaster workers, the vast majority of them volunteers, must go to work immediately to serve the needs of those affected. Disaster victims need essential items right away, such as food, shelter and counseling. In order to respond to disaster-caused needs whenever and wherever a disaster occurs in northwest Florida. The local disaster relief fund allows the chapter to ensure there is money available no matter the day, time or circumstance. In Northwest Florida, the Annual Giving - Adopt a Fire program allows businesses and families to adopt a disaster victim during the month of your choosing and for a pre-designated amount. For example, one Catholic Church decided to adopt all the disaster victims during the month of January. The chapter compiles all the expenses and then invoices the church. Another family decided they would adopt a family in the month of June for an amount not to exceed $1500.00. This program allows ensure there are dollars available to support all the families impacted by disasters throughout the year. Won't you help?
