Course Descriptions: Nurse Assistant Training The purpose of the American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training course is to provide the information and skills necessary that will enable nurse assistants to provide quality care for residents in nursing homes, for clients at home and patients in hospitals. This course is a six week preparatory course, which will ready students to challenge the Florida State Exam. Upon successful completion, students will obtain certifications in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Bloodborne Pathogens, Alzheimer's Recognition and Care, and Workplace Violence. Scrubs, State Exam, Background Check, TB Test and Medical Statement are not included in course price, but are required. $600 per person, 100+ hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Standard First Aid with CPR/AED-Adult & Child plus CPR-Infant Prepare yourself with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course covers first aid, adult CPR, child CPR, and Infant CPR. $60 per person, 8 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Standard First Aid with CPR-Adult, Child & Infant Prepare yourself with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course covers First Aid and Adult, Child & Infant CPR. $50 per person, 7 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer This course covers skills taught in Adult, Child & Infant CPR. This course also teaches skills for using a one-way valve resuscitation mask, bag valve mask and how to perform two-person rescue. This course is beneficial for health care professionals, lifeguards, student nurses and emergency teams. This certification is also known as the BLS certification. $80 per person to include Pocket Mask, 8 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Standard First Aid with CPR-Adult Prepare your staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course covers first aid, adult CPR. $46 per person, 5.5 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS CPR-Adult, Child, and Infant Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries. $44 per person, 6 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS CPR-Adult For the person who only needs adult CPR training, this hands-on skills training prepares them to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. $38 per person, 3 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS CPR/AED-Adult For the person who only needs adult CPR and AED training, this hands-on skills training prepares them to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults . This course also teaches individuals how to safely use an AED to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. $46 per person, 4 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Bloodborne Pathogens: Preventing Disease Transmission This course meets OSHA's revised Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. This course teaches participants how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to prevent exposures and what to do if exposed to infectious materials. $22 per person, 2 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS HIV/AIDS Community Education This course provides education on how to stop the transmission of HIV. encourages people to respond in informed ways to people who have HIV, and help people apply the facts about HIV to their own behavior. $24 per person, 4 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Pet First Aid Pet First Aid is a 4 hour course that teaches basic CPR/First Aid for dog and cat lovers. The course includes an 11 page book that provides quick access and instructions for 50 injuries and illnesses, plus practical health tips. $40 per person, 4 hour course REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Babysitter Boot Camp Offers youth between the ages of 11-15 certifications in Babysitter’s Training, Child & Infant CPR, Standard First Aid, Pet First Aid and Disaster Preparedness. $155.00 per student, 6 hour course for three days. Lunch provided each day. REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Baby Sitter Certification This eight hour course is ideal for current and future babysitters (ages 11-15) -- teaching them the best ways to be safe and to keep children in their care safe. In a fun, interactive environment, participants will learn the responsibilities and qualities of being a good babysitter. This course focuses on injury prevention, first aid, basic childcare, decision making, problem solving and leadership skills. The course was developed by the American Red Cross and has been reviewed and is supported by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., Boy Scouts of America, YMCA of the U.S.A., Boys and Girls Clubs. $ 40 per person-includes Babysitter Portfolio, 8 hours REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Wilderness First Aid Basics For people who work, live or play in remote areas - away from the usual EMS service. Great for Scouts, Forrest Rangers, Law Enforcement, Utility Workers and Hikers/Campers. Price varies on location, full day course for two days REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Learn to Swim (Levels 1-6) Learn to Swim classes are available for all ages and all skill levels. Contact the office if you are unsure what class to register for. $100.00 per student, 4 sessions, 35 minutes each. Levels are one-on-one with student. REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Basic Water Rescue Appropriate for ages 10 and up. Typically is needed for soon-to-be foster parents! $100.00 per person, 8 hour course Course is private with parent(s) or one-on-one with student. REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS Lifeguarding Suitable for ages 15 and up.
